Stephen Ray Duckworth, a resident of Ava, MO passed away on December 10, 2020 in Springfield, MO, at the age of 70. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 1, 1950 to James and Velena (Erickson) Duckworth.
Steve is survived by his wife, Roxann Duckworth of the home; his mother Velena (Bea)Duckworth of Gainesville, Mo; his sister Randi Schmucker of Gainesville, MO; and his three daughters; Jennifer Woodard (Canton, Ga), Kimberly Duckworth(Greenfield, IN) and Nikki Duckworth (Indianapolis, IN); seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and five nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many friends and neighbors. He is predeceased by his father, James Duckworth; and sisters Sally Petro and Connie Duckworth. Steve worked in many professionals throughout his life, including sales and home services, eventually finding his passion in the trucking industry. In his free time, he enjoyed grilling out, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, driving off road vehicles, camping, and scuba diving. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his dogs, family, and friends. A memorial to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at Walnut Grove General Baptist Church, Smallett, Missouri, on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 3:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 wearing of masks is requested at the service. All arrangements are under the care of Ava Family Funeral Home.
